Carnet de Notes is a work produced on occasion of Aterballetto’s 30th anniversary.
When we open a door for the first time onto a new landscape, our memory receives the imprint of an image that becomes a constant reference of all the sensations we experience.
What if we opened the door to Aterballetto? What landscape would we encounter?  We would face the Company’s present and see a Company that is shaped and modeled by Mauro Bigonzetti’s creativity. The fascination that comes from this image does not lead to a serene or nostalgic reading of the works of these years. The Company’s essence tends to movement and to artistic productions; therefore even a glance at the past encloses a sense of movement and a drive to go onward. The impulse that is received leads towards a new involvement and, with a different spirit, towards the inspiration and ideas that did not find a form in the past and were placed in a drawer.
Carnet de Notes is like opening a notebook, after years, to review the corrections and give new life to the emotions that marked the various stages of a long creative journey and, as a result, to create a new work.
It is also a journey in the aesthetics of the various artists that have collaborated to the creation of Aterballetto’s sets and have determined, from time to time, the aesthetics of the Company. The aesthetics of these works is re-read and re-contextualized to generate new suggestions.
The flowing, as if under an ideal magnifying glass, of the pages of this notebook highlights the development of the Company’s style and summarizes the Company’s work in the latest years.
