Serenata
“A fairy tale…without. Without story, without cohesion, without restraint, just a crazy desire to set off an explosion right there, on stage, similar to a firecracker thrown by some mischievous scamp at the feet of a group of ladies. A levitated performance, flying theater, where flight represents primordial desire, the magical container of every possible dream. Theater in the broadest sense of the term, an exaltation of its rudimentary capacity to create illusion, by means of music, both played and visualized, employing a veil of absurdity to avoid the risk of slipping into banal nostalgia while recounting the story of Neapolitan theater”
From “Sono nata a Procida. Memoria impossibile di Concetta Barra” by Lamberto Lambertini.
