Lucia Vergnano was born in Moncalieri (Turin), Italy in 1983. She began her dance training at the New Steps School. She continued her studies at the Academy of the Teatro Nuovo in Turin with M.E. Reyes, R. de Saa, and M.E. Fernandez. She obtained a scholarship to train at the School of the Balletto di Toscana in Florence, under the direction of Cristina Bozzolini, where she studied classical and contemporary technique. As part of Junior Balletto di Toscana/Opus Ballet, she participated in the Fabbrica Europa Festival performing in choreographies by F. Monteverde, A. Santin, and B. Baldi. In 2006-07, she danced with the Balletto di Roma. She joined Aterballetto in August 2008.
