The Company

Valerio Longo was  born in Rome, Italy, in 1976. He graduated at the Dance Lycée in Turin. While there, he took part in various productions of the Company of the Teatro Nuovo in Turin, making his debut in Robert North’s Il tango delle ore piccole. He continued his studies with Robert Strayner, Luc Buy, Irina Rosca, and George Bodnarciuk. In 1992, he won first prize in the competition “Giovani talenti” (young talents) in Chiavari (Italy) and third prize in the competition “Città di Rieti”. In 1996, he won first prize in the competition “Vignale Danza”. In 1998, he danced as soloist in the Company Danza Prospettiva,  directed by Vittorio Biagi. He later joined Balletto di Toscana. He joined Aterballetto in autumn 2001. In 2004, he created Il corpo che narra. Trasformazioni with Adrien Boissonnet and Beatrice Mille. Other works for Aterballetto include Pororoca (2005), Saminas  (2006), and Sirysha (2008). In 2008, he created Hasmu for the Scapino Ballet. He creates again for Aterballetto in 2010 “Minima sospensione” and in 2011 “Indomato effetto”.
