Holland Dance Festival

The Fondazione Nazionale della Danza / Aterballetto is on the bill of the 17th edition of the Holland Dance Festival, one of the most prestigious dance festivals that for three weeks programs more than 50 shows with the most interesting companies in the world, such as the Batsheva Dance Company and the Gauthier Dance/Dance Company Theaterhaus Stuttgart.

The Fondazione has been invited to present both the company’s productions and Diego Tortelli’s new creation with a skillful dancer and a disabled dancer.

Aterballetto dances at the prestigious Holland Dance Festival an evening signed by Hofesh Shechter, Philippe Kratz and Johan Inger.

In Wolf  by Hofesh Shechter we find a kind of wild animality that crosses men and women at times. The painting that is composed drags us into a mysterious and engaging universe. “O” is a beautiful step at two with an unstoppable rhythm signed by Philippe Kratz. Finally, we close the evening with the contagious joy of BLISS by Johan Inger.

Through the project Danza e Fragilità, the Fondazione Nazionale della Danza / Aterballetto has started a performative research around the languages of dance and disability, creating virtuous relationships with both local and international subjects.

Together with Oriente Occidente Festival, which has been investigating the theme ‘art and disability’ for years, the Fondazione co-produced Feeling Good, a creation for a abled dancer and a disabled one signed by choreographer Diego Tortelli.

Feeling Good is part of the Mixed Doubles evening, composed of three other duets produced by Onassis Cultural Centre (GR), Holland Dance Festival (NL), Skånes Dansteater (SE).

The Mixed Doubles evening is part of the EBA Europe Beyond Access project, co-financed by the European Union’s Creative Europe Programme.

The first performances are at the Korzo Theater on 6, 7, 8 February 2020.
