The Other Side – premiere
On June 20th we were supposed to debut at the Ravenna Festival with Johan Inger’s Don Juan.
Unfortunately, the COVID-19 prevented us, but it didn’t stop our creativity.
And now here we are, on Thursday 25th June 2020, to present the premiere on Rai 5 at 9.15 pm (9.45 pm on YouTube) The Other Side, our dance and music videocreation, a tribute to art, as well as a tribute to the 250 years of Ludwig van Beethoven.
Art is always a strong signal of life, and in this creation the impressionistic suggestions of music are the necessary cue for dancers closed in their solitude to get up and find energy and inspiration. Just as a large format artwork by Luisa Rabbia, Love, becomes the plot of imaginary explosions and visual suggestions.
The choreographer Saul Daniele Ardillo, thanks to the collaboration with the dramaturg Simone Giorgi, tells a story of loneliness and feelings with the bodies of the dancers of Aterballetto on music by Beethoven and a new composition by Fabio Massimo Capogrosso, performed by three musicians of the Filarmonica Arturo Toscanini. All this under the eyes and to the rhythm of the editing by film-maker Valeria Civardi.
The Other Side is a co-production with La Toscanini of Parma, with the support of Collezione Maramotti, Reggio Emilia, in production collaboration with Ravenna Festival and with the sponsorship of ADAM shoe design.

DANCE FOR AN IDEAL CITY: THE DOCUFILM THAT TELLS THE MICRODANZE
"Dance for An Ideal City" is the docufilm that, starting from the "MicroDances" project, explores the possibility of depicting the contemporary city through dance. Conceived by Gigi Cristoforetti and directed by filmmaker Daniele Costa and art critic Nicolas Ballario, it is screened for the first time on October 29th in Modena, as part of the Cinedanza festival.
